THANKFUL FOR A JUST GODPsalm 7:17 says “I will thank the Lord because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High”. If we don’t hear the bad news first - that our sins are separating us from God, that the “wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), then what are we saved from? We have to understand that God is a God of Justice first and that punishment for sin is real, but that He has made a way of escape. His mercy is not powerful to us, if we don’t understand His wrath for sin. The Psalmist is declaring his thankfulness for God being JUST because it makes His love even more deeper with that understanding.Within the American church we are many times not preaching the whole counsel of God. We must confront people with sin, death and hell so that this scripture will come alive to them and salvation will be needed and a heart of thanksgiving will spring forth. Romans 5:8-10- “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”God is a just God. That truth makes my salvation even more valuable to me and stirs me to want to share it even more. #wholecouncilofgod #truth #justice #justGod #salvation #loveofgod

*DAILY DEVOTIONAL* *PROPHET DAG HEWARD - MILLS* *KINGDOM BUSINESS* *10th August, 2024* *READ: 1 Timothy 4:12-16* But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.Matthew 6:33God wants the first part of everyone’s life. The first part of our lives is the season of productivity. It is the period in which people abound in faith, hope, love and fertility. Seek the Kingdom of God before you seek your personal kingdom of wealth, comfort and security. One reason why the Kingdom of God must be sought in the first part of your life, is that the Kingdom of God requires an early start. It also requires a lot of time and attention. It takes many years for something substantial to be accomplished in ministry. Jesus Himself began His preparation for ministry as a child. Samuel the prophet was brought to the temple as a child. The preparation takes many years. This is why Levites became priests by the age of thirty (Numbers 4:3).As a student, I did many exciting things for the Lord. All night prayer meetings, dawn broadcasts, twelve-hour prayer meetings, seven-hour prayer meetings etc. Although I basically do the same things now, there are obvious changes in the intensity and the style. I really cherish the more youthful years in Christ. In those years I memorized entire chapters of the Bible. It is the verses I learnt in those days that form the basis of my scriptural knowledge today.Perhaps you want to give God the leftovers when you are weak and trembling. The first part is the best part. It is the time when you are strong, energetic and zealous.

What does Proverbs 13:12 mean?Something "deferred" is put off, delayed, or suspended. The longer a person goes without seeing their hope realized, the more likely they are to become discouraged. Seeing one's hopes coming to pass is uplifting. Many passages in Scripture are pleas to God, asking Him to bring about promises which seem to have been deferred (Habakkuk 1:2–4; Psalm 89:46).Of course, if hope is something which will never happen, it is false hope. That can only lead to grief. When a person comes to believe his hope is meaningless, he may become depressed. False teachers who claim those who pray and donate money will be rich and healthy are selling false hope. Others, who promote salvation by works instead of by grace, corrupt the hopes of people who believe they will go to heaven by doing good deeds. Those hopes are false, however. Paul writes in Ephesians 2:8–9: "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Paul was so incensed by the false teaching that religious works were necessary for salvation that he commanded the Galatian believers, "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed" (Galatians 1:8). "Accursed" means devoted to destruction. The hope of heaven that believers have is a sure hope (John 10:28–29). It is sure because it is founded on a perfect, sinless God (Hebrew 4:15; Titus 3:5; 1 Timothy 2:5).https://lnkd.in/gqveEAhW.

If a little is good, more must be better, reasoned the prophet Micah, tongue-in-cheek. If God wanted sacrifices, let's give Him more and bigger ones, lots of calves, thousands of sheep, rivers of oil. Why, we cou ld even give Him our first-born children to show that we really love Him!But as Micah knew, none of this outward giving really shows what's inside. Anyone can go to church or place of worship or give large portions of their income to God. But that person could have absolutely no care for God.People might be impressed at such dramatic displays, but God isn't. These three actions show true devotion to God - Justice, Mercy, and Obedience. These aren't easy actions, but they can change the course of history. What would happen if every person chose to be fair and honest? What would happen in families and relationships if every person mercifully forgave while expecting excellence? Who would doubt God's existence if believers quietly did right in God's name? Conversely, what damage is done when believers cheat, hold grudges, and insist on a showy display of religiousity? God expects three things of us: to see that justice is done, to let mercy be our first concern; and to humbly obey our God. Exodus 20:1-17; Judges 5:1-11; Jeremiah 1:4-19; Romans 8:1-17; 1 Corinthians 6:12-20.May the Almighty God help us all to be truly and faithfully devoted to Him in Jesus name.Wishing you a very productive day and a fun-filled weekend ahead. 😊#RegenerationNotReligiousity#TrueDevotionToGod#NotMenPleasers.#NotHumanApproval#SEUNSPEAKS

SOURCE OF GUIDANCE AND GOD’S WISDOM“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night” Psalm1.It is important that we order our lives according to the Word of God, since happiness results from our choice to follow Gods directions of life. The Bible is a source of guidance and wisdom where people from all walks of life will learn how to walk in the Light of God. Psalm1 sets up the theme of God’s instructions (v.2) for those who choose faithfulness to God and to find life. When we read the Psalms, we join believers in God in ascribing glory to Him, expressing our trust and doubts and clinging to His promises. Psalms offers us ways to rejoice in prayer, to bow in worship, to exalt God for all He does, and for all His blessings. In addition it illuminates the greatness of God and affirm His faithfulness to us. As Christians put down roots that will break through the earth and bring forth branches and bloom; and send your roots into the Word of God by meditating on it day and night so that we will not wither but prosper (v3).As humans we are divided into two camps; those who are related to God by faith and those who are alienated by sin and unbelief. We have a choice of choosing a life of blessings or one of difficulty and judgment. The choice is yours, choose wisely. Shalom.

HIGHER EVERYDAYFRIDAY JULY 5, 2024THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 3TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:17-18MEMORY VERSE: "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints" (EPHESIANS 6:18).In our Bible text today, salvation, the 'sword of the Spirit' and prayer, are presented to us for the believers' winning strategy. Actually, you cannot touch the armour of God without salvation. The armour is not for sinners. In a sense, salvation comes first. So, always maintain it.Then comes the 'sword of the Spirit' which is God's Word. The importance of the Word cannot be overemphasized. Rendered as the book of the law, it is a means to all-round success and prosperity (Joshua 1:8). Jesus Himself overcame Satan through the written Word. Finally, we come to prayer. Prayer is an offensive resource for making all the other pieces of the armour effective. When saved youths pray in righteousness with the Word of God in faith, Satan panics. What happened when the early Church prayed for Peter? Of course he was delivered from jail (Acts 12:1-11). We also praise God in prayer. We have learnt in this series that Satan and his evil forces are no match for the power of Almighty Jehovah. The whole armour is all you need.QUOTE: The armour is not for sinners.CHALLENGE: Pray without ceasing.PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me retain my armour, in Jesus' name.https://dailymanna.app//

The Gifts Of Men "In the Bible, we see unlimited men who used their gifts to serve others and bring glory to God. From the apostle Paul's writings to the apostles' acts of service, we see how God has entrusted men with unique talents, resources, and abilities to build up the body of Christ and advance His kingdom. Just like these men, we too have been given gifts to serve others. Our talents, resources, and time can be used to show God's love and care to those in need. When we use our gifts to serve, we become the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to those around us.QNs:- What gifts has God given you to serve others?- How can you use your talents, resources, and time to show God's love and care to those around you?- #ServingOthers- #SpiritualGifts- #MensMinistry- #BuildingUpTheBody- #AdvancingGodsKingdom- #BiblicalExamples- #Mark2v2-12- #EmpoweringOthers- #TalentsAndResources- #GodsGlory- #DiscipleshipAndMentorship- #UsingOurGifts- #HandsAndFeetOfJesus

So, today’s topic is about prayer. At my church, we had a week of prayer, where we dedicated certain times throughout the day to pray. Prayer is something that the Bible encourages us to do without ceasing, yet, many Christians (myself inclusive, sometimes) see this as a chore. Why is it so?Click the link below to read the full article. Remember to like, share, leave a comment, and subscribe.https://lnkd.in/dQPdQh8B

WisdomPsalm 69:29–3629But as for me, afflicted and in pain—may your salvation, God, protect me.30I will praise God’s name in songand glorify him with thanksgiving.31This will please the LORD more than an ox,more than a bull with its horns and hooves.32The poor will see and be glad —you who seek God, may your hearts live!33The LORD hears the needyand does not despise his captive people.34Let heaven and earth praise him,the seas and all that move in them,35for God will save Zionand rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it;36the children of his servants will inherit it,and those who love his name will dwell there.CommentarySounds of worshipThe Bible is realistic. There are times when we are ‘in pain and distress’ (v.29). David doesn’t try to ignore the problems he faces. Yet, he still chooses to worship God in spite of his circumstances. Even in the depths, you can still be sure of who God is and worship him. This psalm ends with the sound of worship: ‘I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving… Letheavenand earth praise him’ (vv.30,34). Worship goes on not only on earth, but also in heaven. When you worship, you are joining in thesounds of heaven. Here, we see three aspects of worship:1. Worship involves the willDavid says, ‘Iwillpraise God’s name’ (v.30). You may not always feel like worshipping God but it is a decision you make; it is an act of the will.2. Worship pleases God‘This willplease the Lordmore than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hoofs’ (v.31).3. Worship affects others‘The poorwill see and be glad– you who seek God, may your hearts live!’ (v.32). I have noticed how those ‘who seek God’ onAlphaare often moved by the worship, and as a result their ‘hearts live’.Prayer

Characteristics of Faith From Hebrews 11 By Eddie Parrish While no characteristic that God desires for us is unimportant, one could make a strong case that faith is among the most important. It is fundamental, foundational, and central. Jesus placed it among the “weightier” matters of the law (Matt. 23:23). Its usage in the New Testament bears witness to its preeminence. It sometimes describes the whole of New Testament doctrine (Jude 3; Acts 6:7; 1 Tim. 4:1). It is that which begins and undergirds all of gospel obedience (Rom. 1:16; Heb. 11:6; Acts 16:30-34), and it is at the heart of Christian living (Gal. 2:20; 2 Cor. 5:7). The writer of Hebrews, in his tremendous chapter on faith (chapter 11), reveals no less than 14 characteristics of faith. Consider: 1. It assures us of our future hope (1). 2. It furnishes us with firm convictions regarding things we do not yet see (1). 3. It enhances one’s reputation, and rightly so (2, 4, 5, 39). 4. It goes hand-in-hand with rational thought (3). 5. It expresses itself in action (4-34). 6. It is required for one who would approach and please God (6). 7. It condemns ungodliness (7, 38). 8. It serves as the foundation of justification (7). 9. It takes God at his word, regardless of the consequences (8- 9, 17, 24-27, 35-38). 10. It assesses life from an eternal perspective (10, 13-16, 26). 11. It accepts God’s word, regardless of how unbelievable it might seem (11-12). 12. It looks beyond this life to the next (10, 13, 16). 13. It conquers fear (23, 27). 14. It connects the Christian to saints of the past (39-40). With so much to gain by having it, and so much to lose without it, our daily prayer should be, “Lord, increase our faith” (Luke 17:5).
