The Denver Metro Chamber celebrates the passage of HB24B-1001, bringing crucial property tax relief to both residential and commercial payers across Colorado. This bill, which we have championed since May, adds 20% permanent tax relief and caps future growth, ensuring stability for local governments and schools. We're proud to have helped deliver this compromise, benefiting over 85% of our small business members who rely on their home's value as financial backing. This marks a significant step toward Economic Empowerment for Every Coloradan.#COPolitics #MetroDenver #PropertyTax

We are reviewing the 0.5% sales tax increase for affordable housing that Denver City Council approved last night, sending the measure to voters this November. While we recognize the importance of affordable housing, we are seeking further details on the proposal before considering an official stance. Our priority is ensuring that housing solutions benefit all workers, including those in the "missing middle," such as teachers, nurses and first responders. Additionally, we know that money alone will not solve the housing supply challenge that Denver faces, and we look forward to working with city leaders on process improvements to ensure funds can be used as efficiently as possible to maximize the housing opportunities they can provide. Read more about the proposal and its potential impact here: https://lnkd.in/gvZ-UA-V

🚨 Attention Business Community! 🚨Over 100 organizations—ranging from small businesses to large enterprises—have already joined us in calling for a special legislative session to address skyrocketing property taxes. The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce is pushing for action as SB24-233, though a step forward, hasn’t fully met the needs of our business community. We believe a fair legislative compromise is within reach, and key organizers of proposed ballot measures 108 and 50 are willing to withdraw them if a reasonable solution is reached.Your support is crucial! Follow the link below to add your name to our call for a special session before the November election. Let’s make sure the business community's voice is heard and drive the change we need!https://lnkd.in/ghwgb82P
