(Jack) Starkey, 60, a retired Agriculture Department official, died yesterday at Georgetown Hospital after heart attack. He retired in 1952 as chief of administrative services and chief accountant of the Bureau of Agricultural Economics. Mr. Starkey, a native of Spencer, W. moved to Washington the of 19 to begin a 36-year career the Government.
His wife, Bonny, formerly worked for the Agriculture Department as an administrative assistant in the Division of Soil Survey. Since Mr. Starkey's retirement, he and Mrs. Starkey had traveled extensively in the Caribbean and Pacific areas. They lived at 5448 Thirtieth place N.W.
Mr. Starkey held a law degree from National University here. He Masonic was a member of Lafayette Lodge No. 19 and a past patron of Lafayette Lodge, Chapter 37, Eastern Star. Survivors, in addition to Mrs.
Starkey, include his mother. Mrs. Della M. Starkey, and brother, RANDALL P. STARKEY James both of 2020 Lawrence street N.E., and four sisters, Mrs.

Schulberg, 65, retired motion picture producer and father of novelist Budd Schulberg, died yesterday. He had been in motion ture production for 35 pichad held independent years and and staff production. positions in New York and Hollywood. In 1922 he retired and moved to Key Biscayne, a Miami suburb. where he spent most of his time reading and working on an unfinished autobiography.
Mr. Schulberg, born in Bridgeport, was only 20 when he entered the motion picture industry in 1922 as publicity director and scenario writer for Adolph Zukor's Famous Players Co, in New York. Discovered Clara Bow When Mr. Zukor and Jesse Lasky combined their rival companies in 19 1915 to form Paramount, Mr. Schulberg retained his double-duty job, but after a few years left to become an independent producer.

Castro of 228-A Bates street N.W.. assigned to the 3d Marine Air Wing. Another Marine, Staff Sergt. Johnnie L. Bray, 32, of Garden Grove, also died in the crash.
The Marine Corps said the win -turbine plane, a Douglas F3D Skynight, crashed shortly after taking off from El Toro Marine Air Station and exploded when it hit the ground. An investigation has been ordered. Capt. Castro, a District native, was graduated from Anacostia High School in 1943 and from the University of North Carolina in 1946. He was commissioned in the Marine Corps in 1947 and attended basic school at Quantico.
He served with 1st Marine Air Wing in Korea from January, 1953, to January, 1954. He is survived by his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Castro.

Bailey, Former Budget Bureau Official Frederick John Bailey, 78, former assistant director of the Budget Bureau, died yesterday at Kensington Gardens Sanitarium. He retired from the Budget Bureau in 1948 after 47 years of Government service. A native of Groton, he taught at a secondary school in the Philippines from 1901 to 1905.
He later served as secretary to former Senator Proctor of Vermont and as chief clerk and assistant director of the Bureau of Mines. He joined the Budget Bureau in 1922. In 1940 Mr. Bailey was appointed assistant bureau director in charge of legislative reference. In that post he made recommendations on proposal legislation and wrote veto messages for the President.
Mr. Bailey was a graduate of Middlebury College. Middlebury, Vt. He received his law degree from Georgetown University in 1910. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs.

Mr. Schulberg gat few responses from the ad, and six months later he moved his film operations from Hollywood to New York.

In recent years, Mrs. Darcey had made her home on Long Island with one of her daughters, Mrs. Raymond E. Shook. The former Sarah Cunningham, she was born in Georgetown.
and lived for many years on Thirty -first street N.W. and later at 2134 street N.W. Mrs. Darcey was a past matron of Mizpah Chapter No. 8 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a lifelong member of Dumbarton Avenue Methodist Church in Georgetown.
Her husband, John F. Darcey, a furniture dealer in Georgetown, died about 25 years ago. A sister, Miss Mary Ellen Cunningham, died two years ago at the age of 97. Mrs. Darcey is survived by three children, Mrs.

Mo. Col. Royal G. Jenks, USA retired, 75, who destroyed $15 million in Philippine currency to keep it out of Japanese hands in World War II, died yesterday at Walter Reed Hospital after a long illness. Col.
Jenks, Gen. Douglas MacArthur's finance officer when the Philippines were evacuated late in 1941, destroyed more than 30 million pesos belonging to the Philippine Treasury before he fled to Corregidor. Records were kept so that the money could be reissued. Col. Jenks also took with him to Corregidor and then by submarine to Australia 17 trunks of finance records.
Included were the. insurance applications of more than 30,000 soldiers who were on Bataan. and Corregidor. A native of New Orleans, Col. Jenks received bachelor and master degrees in law from Columbian College, now' George Washington University.
He entered Government service with the Treasury Department. In 1917 he joined Army and became one of the original officers in the Finance Department when it was set up in 1920. From 1931 to 1936 he was personnel officer for the chief of finance in the War Department here. He is survived by his widow, former Ruth Herring of the home address, 3100 Connecticut avenue N.W. Mr. Grindle had been in ill health for, several years. He member of the law firm of Watson, Cole, Grindle and Watson, offices at 815 Fifteenth street N.W., from 1920 until his retirement in 1943. He entered the Patent Office in 1903 as an assistant examiner. He served there for 16 years, advancing to the position of examiner.
Mr. Grindle attended law school while working in the Patent Office and was admitted to the bar in Born in Licking County, Ohio, he was educated in the public Walter Eaton, 78, Drama Professor CHAPEL HILL, N. Feb. Prichard Eaton, 78, retired writer and drama professor, died here yesterday. He was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage his room at a hotel about 8 a.m.
He had been declining health in recent months. A native of Malden, Mr. Eaton in recent months had spent winters Chapel Hill and the summers in Sheffield, Mass Mr. Eaton attended Andover Academy, Harvard University, where he graduated in 1900, and Yale University, from which he received the Master of Arts degree. He had been drama critic for York Herald Tribune, the York Sun, and the BosNew ton Herald.
In 1947 he retired from his post as professor of playwriting at Yale University, after which he taught in the drama department at the University of North Carolina for two years. He was also a visiting and the professor University at of Rollins Texas. College Venezuela Airfields CARACAS-Venezuela has 105 airfields in operation. After teaching for several years, Mr. Grindle served with the United States Weather Bureau at Pittsburgh and before going with the Office. He was a member of the Fossils Club and of Cleveland Park Congregational Church. His wife, Mrs. Josie Grindle, died in 1947.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Morse of home address and Mrs. Mae Hendren of Newark, Ohio, and a brother, Frank Grindle, also of Newark. Services will be held at rioon tomorrow in the S. H.

C. Mrs. Morris was a 'native of Easley, S. and a lifelong resident of the State. In addition to her son, who lives at 4001 Linnean avenue N.W., she is survived by two other sons, Earle and Jesse of Pickens; three daughters, Mrs.
F. van Clayton of Pickens; Mrs. J. Henry Sitton of Greenville, S. and Miss Mary Morris, who acts as hostess for Edgar Morris; five grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the home in Pickens, with burial in Surise Cemetery there. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be in form of contributions to the American Red Cross emergency relief fund. School Variety Show Students at Takoma Park Junior High School on Piney Branch road will present a variety show, "The Takoma Capers," at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday land Saturday at the school.
